Mount Moses (Sinai, Horeb) is one of the most famous mountains in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, standing at a height of 2,285 meters above sea level. According to the Bible, God appeared to Moses on this mountain and gave him the Ten Commandments, which are now observed by the three largest religions in the world: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. It is believed that anyone who climbs the mountain and witnesses the sunrise will have all their sins forgiven.
With the help of an experienced guide, you will ascend to 2,285 meters above sea level and climb an additional 750 steps to reach the summit, where you will witness the sunrise while enjoying panoramic views in all directions. At the top of the mountain, you will find the Holy Trinity Church, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, the Cave where Moses sheltered for 40 days and nights according to the Bible, the Cave Church, the Well of Prophet Elijah, and the Mosque of Prophet Muhammad.
You will learn about the history of this sacred place, the life of Moses, and many interesting facts about the Bible. After descending the mountain, you will visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, founded in the 4th century. You will see the Burning Bush, the Well of Moses, and the Basilica of the Transfiguration.
